As I usually do now on the second Tuesday evening of the month, I attend the Troy Athens High School PTO meeting. At this past Tuesday's meeting, Troy School District Superintendent Dr. Barbara Fowler gave an update on what's going on in the Troy Schools. It was a very informative presentation. We should be very pleased that our Troy School District continues to deliver a quality education for the young people of our community.
One news item to me is that the School Board is considering placing a millage proposal on the November 2013 ballot. The millage proceeds would be used for:
- Building Infrastructure: Roofs, Heating & Cooling, Parking Lots
- Instructional Equipment (science labs, etc.)
- Buses
- Technology
