Here's a brief excerpt from Councilman Henderson's report on the 1/28/13 City Council meeting...
...Pastor AC Phillips of Evanswood Church of God opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. We were able to award a certificate of appreciation to Barnes and Noble of Troy for partnering with the Troy Public Library and raising $ 1,369 for special Library Programs. We also heard a well spoken teen by the name of Arushi Mahajan give a presentation for the Troy Librarys Teen Advisory Board. Arushi is the president of the board, and talked about the groups mission and goals. We heard an update from Glenn Lapin on the Transit Center. It looks like it might be all aboard sometime in July this year at the new facility. I’m not giving out details, but I plan on being one of the first passengers to Chicago out of the new facility this summer. If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em might be appropriate here. The details of ongoing cost coverage are still being ironed out. There are still a lot of loose ends, but it is important to know that there isn’t one council person that is going to let that loose end remain loose. We are all working hard at identifying and securing opportunities here...Unfortunately, if you are not on Facebook, I don't believe you can access these reports.
