If you haven't read Mr. Kischnick's message, here it is...
On November 19, I will officially begin my service as the Troy City Manager. I am grateful to the mayor, city council and residents to have been given the opportunity to serve Troy during this exciting time.Welcome to Troy, Brian and family!
After serving municipalities in Michigan and Florida, I am looking forward to working with such highly regarded professionals as those in the City of Troy. Troy has a great history, reputation and future and it is my mission to contribute to making a great city better!
My beautiful family includes my wife Kari, a third grade teacher; son Brendan 11 years; and daughter Katelyn 6 years. We will be relocating to Troy over the following months as we navigate the transition of schools and residences. My wife and I are both originally from Michigan and we are excited to become part of the Troy family and welcome meeting all of you.
Communities in Michigan all transform at different times and in varying degrees. That is the beauty of municipal governance. Local governance in Michigan is at a critical time and I am optimistic of the challenges and opportunities for Troy due to its history and the professionalism of all that I have met so far.
Open access and listening are the mainstays of successful management and I intend to employ these components as the Troy City Manager. My e-mail address is operational and I welcome any input and comments as I begin the educational process of a successful tenure in Troy. Please feel free to contact me at bkischnick@troymi.gov.
Check out all the fantastic activities and programs in this issue of Troy Today and take advantage of all that this great community has to offer you. I wish you and your family a very happy holiday season.
