That's me in the front row with the red shirt (on the right). |
As a high school student, I spent most of my time studying. I didn't participate in sports. Other than the Honor Society and student council, I wasn't involved in any extracurricular activities. As a result, I had a limited group of friends. Maybe that's why I lost my campaign for president of the student council!
Even though I had made contact with several classmates through Facebook, I was still nervous about attending the reunion. I think most people with memories of high school know what I'm talking about. You know... thoughts of fitting in and being a part of the "in" group.
Well, there was no reason to be nervous. I had a great time and look forward to the next reunion. My only regrets are that some of my friends from the Class of 1972 decided not to attend and that there wasn't more time to catch up on what everyone had been doing for the past 40 years.
I totally agree with all of your comments Dave. We weren’t close in school for no other reason than not having the same types of classes. It was nice getting to know you better on Facebook and I hope to continue hearing about your family and life in the future.
ReplyDeletea large number of people had that same feelings and didn't come but we should all remember that was high school, and we are 40 years down the road in life, and I would hope by the grace of God that we can come to love people as God has called us to love one another! Dave you and I didn't run together in High School but I did remember you from high school and you were always a great guy in my mind! God bless you
