Oakland County Planning Basics Workshop 2012

This morning I attended the Planning Basics Workshop at the Oakland County Conference Center in Pontiac. Also in attendance from Troy was newly-appointed Planning Commissioner Gordon Schepke.

There was no charge to attend this valuable training session due to the generous sponsorship and support from Oakland County Economic Development & Community Affairs and the Michigan Association of Planning. Because the session was complimentary, this is the first training I've been able to attend since I was appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) in 2008. This kind of training is very important for members of both the ZBA and the Planning Commission. I would encourage the Troy City Council to find ways to budget this training in the immediate future.
