City of Troy Unveils New Performance Dashboard

10/4/11 News Release from the City of Troy...
The City of Troy has a long history of fiscal transparency, evidenced by the information contained on its comprehensive website, its community conversations and best practices of cost reduction and fiscal responsibility. City Management engaged in a massive restructuring initiative to take control of its future to assure that Troy would deliver municipal services in the most cost efficient and effective manner. When the State of Michigan introduced the Economic Vitality Incentive Program (EVIP), it was easily determined that Troy could meet the new state standards. The Performance Dashboards proposed by Governor Rick Snyder would include those financial and operating measures that are most important to the government and its citizens. The Dashboards provide a quick assessment of a community’s performance in five key areas that affect families today: economic strength; health and education; value for government; quality of life; and public safety.
