Troy Businessman and Volunteer Bill Price Will Be Missed

Long-time Troy community volunteer Bill Price passed away on June 8th. I had the chance to get to know Bill over several years - primarily through the Troy Rotary Club. He was also very helpful in my two campaigns for Troy City Council. Bill founded Price Funeral Home in 1956 in Troy. Bill's active community volunteering was recognized in 1980 when he was named "Troy's Distinguished Citizen."

I'll always remember that Bill was very proud of his service as a U.S. Marine. He served from 1949 to 1952, and was in the U.S. Marine Reserves from 1952-1960.

He was a great businessman, community volunteer, husband, and father. He will be missed by many - including me.

Visitation is on Friday and Saturday, 2 to 8 p.m., at Price Funeral Home, 3725 Rochester Road (between Big Beaver and Wattles Roads) Troy 248-689-0700. The funeral service is on Sunday, 12:00 Noon at the Price Funeral Home with Rev. Richard B. Cryderman officiating.
